When driving off road never hold the steering wheel with your thumbs inside the wheel.
If you hit a rut or pothole , it's gonna hurt !!

Here's a little tip I got for going down hill. You probably all know it but here it is anyway (for those who don't).
When driving down a steep sand dune it's best to head straight down, using 2nd low with some acceleration. If you turn halfway down there's a strong chance of a rollover. If you start to slide then try accelerating and steer into the slide.

Tip of the day! (please add yours) Empty Tickover Prior to Shutdown

Post by Liam Tue Dec 29, 2009 5:57 am

Not so much a tip lads but just something i do. I always let me Nav tickover prior to knocking if off to allow the oil to run out of the turbo. You don't have to do this as its not so critical on newer engines but i've just got in the habit of doing after years of driving plant with older bigger engines Wink

On really frosty mornings make sure that you lift your windscreen wiper off from the windscreen (breaking the ice seal)...............this will prevent the motor burning out and the joints of the windscreen spindles snapping.......

Please don't ask me how i know........but it was a works car.... Innocent

On the same subject, make sure your wipers are not on Auto when you start up (if you have this function) Otherwise they may try and sweep whilst still frozen to the screen thumbsup
