Fuel Economy

Just thought I'd post my findings after 2 tanks of fuel in my Ranger.

The first half tank was used driving locally (Peak District/Derbyshire Dales) in a lot of snow, using a lot of 4wd; the second half driving at around 75mph on the motorway.

The second tank was used mostly on the motorway with some local nearly all 2wd.

Bizarrely both tanks averaged 30mpg - I'll report back with future findings.

I still wouldn't argue with that 30mpg is pretty good especially all round!! the weather might effect it also bud!

Update:

After owning for nearly 4 months and sticking 13k on the clock I'm still averaging 30.

This is with a loaded boot, Thule roofbars and LED lightbar bolted to the roof.

The lowest I've had is 28 and the highest 33 - the difference between booting it and driving sensibly, but not pedestrian like by any means.

It had it's 1st MOT on Sat and sailed through btw.

Awesome bud, mine is now 28 average but still able after the hammer it gets so im happy with that, but yours is fantastic

By LED lightbar - I mean in the form of an amber flasher/strobe.

It's fully resplendent with fluorescent yellow and red motorway maintenance chevrons on the back (magnetic of course).

Of course, it stands to reason well at least this time of night bud, are you loving the truck ?

Yeah, can't fault it to be fair. Just needs a DTUK 170bhp upgrade and I'll be happy.

Awesome bud, i will say a power upgrade is not really that effective as you might find!! i've done my fair share and IMO i can say i wouldn't bother!!but if you feel the need good on you

I see, it makes sense and that will do it, the chips are decent but IMO a full remap is the way to go, well a map by a company that can give you a map thats not generic as that is like putting a chip on!! if its done correctly you can achieve some massive power upgrades for the same cost as a chip!! all im saying is do some homework to get the best out of your truck bud

Nice one - will do some research. I'd just been led to believe (mainly by reading the Nav forum) that a DTE unit was the way to go.

I work on the tank full on tank before fuel light comes on will be 480/500 miles. Then the next time may be 380/400 different drive styles to different readings.
