tail gate gas strut
Hi all, just been thinking about the weight of my tailgate, and thought i need a gas strut to stop the thing from dropping down with a bang, so my question is has anyone fitted a gas strut to their tale gate if so any info will be helpfull, i've seen some on yank trucks, thanks. dennis

I don't know of anybody that has done it mate but i'm sure it would be easy done I would just be a case of sourcing two suitable struts from the likes of http://www.sgs-engineering.com/pages/strut-car-makes and making four brackets. Trying to get the angle right and establishing the mounting points for the brackets would take a bit of doing i reckon though

Have you any links to the yank tanks that have them, we might be able to mod these
Re: tail gate gas strut
Nice one, i wonder if that would fit in the Nav I suppose a brave soul would have to test one
Re: tail gate gas strut

Re: tail gate gas strut
Hi Guys,
Regarding the EZ Down tailgate damper. I read a few threads on the other site a while ago about these.
First off, the tailgate of the US frontier has a different hinge arrangement, so the EZ is not a bolt on fit to the Navara. It has to have a few mods to fit (cutting and drilling holes)
The second thing i have read about them is that they strain the tailgate and have started to bend some peoples tailgates out of shape. Carts is the man to ask about these as he has one, but has disconected due to this problem.
Hope that helps a bit before anyone runs out and orders one
