Pajero
A mate has asked me to change the inner boots (diff end) on the front drive shafts of his Pajero as they are split, has anyone any idea of the time this is likely to take plus any tips. I think he has bought standard replacement boots, can you get 'easyfit in situ' type? if so are they any good? I have bought/used them on a front drive VW with no probs but not on a 4x4. The job will be at home on the drive so any info appriciated. HiLux man myself, drive shaft refit on those are noprobs and take about an hour a side.

Re: Pajero
I cant really comment on the Pajero boots but like you, I have used those easyfit / split type cv boots in the past with some very good results. Cant see that them being fitted to a 4x4 would make them any less effective

Re: Pajero
I can't comment on a Pajero either but did one on my wife's Mazda 6 (fwd) about 1.1/2 ago and I'm shore it only took just over an hour to do and I can't see the Pajero being any different just because it's 4wd.

Re: Pajero
Well bit the bullet and did a proper job, the only probs were as expected for a vehicle nearly 20 years old. Thanks for replies.

Yep, on the drive with a couple of axle stands.
Pjareos are not too popular in Bulgaria so it would be difficult to find an expert anyway, and as I have found with my Toyota many of the 'experts' have less knowledge and/or experiance than me. I have been into modern workshops and seen 'mechanics' doing work using old forged type open ended spanners with stretched jaws.......not very inspiring!!

Great work and pretty easy to be honest, as with all things mechanical, you just need to be methodical
