My Dad was a Collier , every day he went to the Pit with his snap tin , which contained his snap which he consumed at snap time.
His snap was usually bread and jam , bread and dripping , bread and potted dog , or if it was a Monday bread and pork/beef/chicken ... or whatever was left over from Sunday dinner.....all washed down with a bottle of 'corporation pop'...Water.
