Can't engage 4wd on Mazda B2500
Hi,
I've got a problem with an X reg (2000) Mazda B2500 Dbl cab. If I put it into 4wd either High or Low the 4wd light on the dash illuminates but I remain in 2 wd. The RFW (remote free wheel) light does not illumunate. This vehicle has auto locking hubs and you have to press the RFW switch to unlock them when going back to 2wd. I'm not sure how this system works or where to start looking. Any help or ideas would be gratefully received.
Thanks for reading,
Rob.

Hi Rob im no expert on the Mazda but i believe its prob the micro switch thats not engaging, the only way to really tell is a diagnostic, but it sound like an electrical fault!
Re: Can't engage 4wd on Mazda B2500
Thanks, I've been pointed in various directions on this. I'll post an answer if I manage to sort it. I've got a busy weekend in the snow to try and sort it out!!

Re: Can't engage 4wd on Mazda B2500
Sorted. A vacuum hose was disconnected from a switch. There are two of these and I think they individually control the auto locking hubs. One spigot had broken off so I've made a new tube from various sleeved bits of ali tubing and fitted it all together. It'll last for a bit until I get a new one.
Thanks for the help.
Rob.
